The one that started it all…

The Elephant was the first wooden canvas painting Payton created. The canvas was produced by her husband, Daniel, who recycled several pieces of scrap wood and glued them together. He presented this canvas to Payton one afternoon as a surprise and said, “here, paint something fun on it.” She was inspired!

This Elephant is what came of the fun project. Payton painted it in one sunny afternoon, and it quickly became the artist’s favorite. She has since created several animal portraits with this being the catalyst. Each wooden canvas has its own unique quality, and imperfections in the wood are embraced.
